Reliability Engineer Manager (Finance)



Position Summary: The LGUS South Region Reliability Manager leads a multi-person support team that works in concert with project engineering, process engineering, safety/environmental, maintenance and operations teams to provide support to achieve strategic and tactical reliability goals across the Linde Gases U.S (LGUS) South Region. The South Region Reliability Manager reports directly to the LGUS Reliability Manager and is responsible for facilities in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas and Missouri. Essential Functions: The LGUS Reliability team is responsible for identification, development, and implementation of innovative solutions to a variety of reliability issues for multiple facilities across various technologies. The South Region Reliability Manager ensures that team members have the capabilities and tools to work independently and make technical decisions based on full awareness of viability, cost, and other benefits. The overall objective of the South Region Reliability Manager is to develop and empower the team to ensure the reliable operation of production facilities while achieving the lowest life cycle cost. Key capabilities and responsibilities for this position are: - Champions and promotes a reliability-based culture. - Champions and promotes a strong process safety culture. - Leads a team of 6 Reliability Engineers, with planned future expansion to 8:- Maintains organizational alignment and cascades goals to the team. - Conducts regular performance evaluations and maintains critical goals for each team member. - Prepares training and development plans and ensures that required certifications and qualifications are maintained. - Is acutely aware of highest impact issues and drives resolution with a strong sense of urgency and integrity. - Has strong written and verbal communication skills. Prepares and organizes written presentations, documentation and reports pertaining to HyCO plant reliability. - Actively promotes and supports the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Root Cause Identification (RCI) process for significant failures to prevent reoccurrence. - Qualifies team members as Technical Reviewers of Management of Change (MOC) packages and various projects to ensure that reliability needs are addressed. - Identifies reliability improvement opportunities through interaction with team members, region and plant personnel and use of all tools and data available to make decisions. Makes recommendations and justifies new tools, work process improvements and capital improvements to the business. Initiates capital project proposals and MOC packages accordingly. Ensures that ongoing feedback is provided to the global engineering team to ensure that designs are optimized. - Assists the team with optimizing and managing the Preventive Maintenance (PM) programs at operating facilities on an ongoing basis. Ensures that effective work processes are in place to enable Corrective Maintenance (CM) work to be identified and managed. Serves as a champion and advocate of the Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system. - Maintains an open dialog with operations and maintenance leadership to ensure alignment of priorities. - Ensures that management systems, information management tools and practices are used to properly manage asset data, process safety information and maintenance history. Analyzes data and utilizes Six Sigma methodologies to identify and perform reliability improvement projects. - Tracks and reports on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and key initiatives. KPIs include Mean Time Between Outage (MTBO), plant reliability and availability, and cost of downtime. - Key driver to assure maintenance turnaround scope includes the right scope based on equipment conditions and PM plans. - Champion of predictive maintenance programs including route-based and continuous monitoring of rotating equipment and infrared thermography for refractory-lined equipment. - Support unplanned maintenance events with field engineering solutions. - Drive the implementation of best practices and operational consistency. - Work independently and make decisions based on full awareness of cost and other benefits. Qualifications: - 10+ years of Engineering/Reliability experience - B.S. in Engineering. Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred. - Experience working with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). Hexagon EAM experience preferred. - Knowledgeable in OSHA Process Safety Management - Position requires approximately 20% domestic travel.
