What's the role?

The Head of Manufacturing & Sustaining Engineering for the Chesterfield site is responsible for:

  • Developing, and implementing the manufacturing strategy and strategic operational goals at the Chesterfield sites, optimizing production levels and driving operational efficiency and productivity.
  • Responsible for setting and achieving annual cost down plans and initiatives
  • Managing manufacturing engineering resources to ensuring technical support for all manufacturing activities, striving for best-in-class products and business practices to deliver to the customer's expectations.
  • Managing teams and projects across the business providing clear leadership and vision to drive Key Performance Indicators across all areas of the Manufacturing and sustaining engineering function so that all projects and new product introductions are delivered at or below cost and on time to the highest quality standards.
  • Ensure Health, Safety and Environmental issues are prioritized and facilitated.

Here's what you'll do:

Essential Functions:

  • Oversees the manufacture of products, ensuring production, performance, and quality standards are consistently met.
  • Develops and introduces productivity and efficiency improvements to reduce the COGS of production products and drive implementation of Lean Business Strategy and drive continuous improvement across all manufacturing related areas of the Operations and Sustaining Engineering
  • Working with the business sector and R&D, manages the introduction of new products through the prototype build phase and into volume manufacturing
  • Reviews production reports to ensure safety, quality, financial, and delivery goals and standards are met.
  • Leads and directs cross-functional teams consisting of engineering, product management, process quality, reliability, manufacturing, service, and procurement functions and has direct responsibility for the engineering functions of the PLC (Product Life Cycle Management) process for all products manufacturing at the site. direct
  • Ensures a healthy and safe working environment, and compliance with federal and state regulations, through collaboration with environmental, health, and safety staff.
  • Manage department-specific activities, including planning, staffing, budgeting, expense tracking, etc., implementing changes as needed to improve product development throughput, reliability, and quality.

Do you qualify?

  • Master's degree in Engineering (MSME), or equivalent combination of Bachelor's
    degree and experience
  • Ten (10) years of product manufacturing, product development and product
    engineering experience in a lead role and a track record of successful product
    introductions
  • Seven (7) years functional management experience
  • Strong analytical skills in mechanical/electrical engineering related disciplines
    with prior cross-disciplinary exposure to product verification testing and
    manufacturing process development
  • Program management/lead experience desirable
  • Strong technical communication skills (verbal, written, presentation) and a
    proven ability to interact with a highly technical customer base
  • Solid grasp of engineering development processes (mechanical hardware,
    electrical hardware, software development) and test methods. Successful
    background in R&D, product development in a multidisciplinary environment,
    or fast-paced engineering experience preferred.

Domestic and international travel may be required, 10%
