Director of Commercial Contracts & Legal Counsel (Finance)
Responsibilities & Tasks:
In a generalist manner, advising business on employment law, commercial transactions, trade, and compliance, and other matters involving risk and strategy. Strategizing, advising, and leading steps to resolve disputes, and selecting and managing outside litigation counsel when needed. Maintaining currency on U.S. and international commercial contracts legal topics. Serve as contact for legal contract questions within and outside the business. Confers with organization officials to plan business objectives, to develop organizational policies related to contract administration, and to coordinate the contract administration function. Directs contract administration operations involving contracts for sale of equipment, materials, products, or services. Develops and directs the negotiations of contracts with customers. Provides analysis of contracts and past operations, trends and costs, estimated and realized revenues, administrative commitments, and obligations incurred. Advises management regarding contractual rights, obligations, and other contractual matters, such as effective use of resources and legal issues. Provides input as required to support the preparation of proposal review/briefing packages to ESA management. Manages price/cost proposal preparation and approval for business.
