Navarro Research and Engineering is recruiting a Financial Analyst (3637) in Oak Ridge, TN.

Navarro is seeking a detail-oriented Financial Analyst to support budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and cost analysis for our federal contracts. This role requires strong experience with Deltek Costpoint and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced government contracting environment. The Financial Analyst will work closely with Program Managers, the Controller, and senior leadership to provide critical insights into project performance and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development, tracking, and reporting of budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial plans.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports, dashboards, and variance analyses using Deltek Costpoint.
  • Provide project-level cost analysis and ensure accurate charging of labor, materials, and overhead in compliance with FAR, CAS, and GAAP.
  • Support the monthly close process, including reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals.
  • Collaborate with Program Managers to monitor contract performance, profitability, and indirect rate applications.
  • Assist with audit preparation and provide data and analysis during DCAA, DCMA, DOE, or other government audits.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and documentation to support compliance.
  • Identify and implement process improvements in reporting, analysis, and forecasting.
  • Serve as a subject matter resource for Deltek reporting and data extraction.
  • Present financial data and insights to management to support strategic decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • 3-7 years of progressive financial analysis or accounting experience, preferably in a government contracting environment.
  • Hands-on experience with Deltek Costpoint (required), including financial reporting and project accounting functions.
  • Strong knowledge of FAR, CAS, and GAAP regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and interpret financial reports, dashboards, and cost models.
  • Experience supporting month-end close and audit preparation.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong skills in data analysis.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
