Per Diem Speech Language Pathologist - Adult Acute - Swallow (Finance)



Work Schedule :

Per Diem, day shift. Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm, no weekends required. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

We are seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to:

  • Provide consultative and rehabilitative treatment services to complex patients admitted to the acute hospital in the domains of speech, language and cognition.
  • Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to create comprehensive evidence-based treatment plans to maximize functional outcomes and discharge plans.
  • Work within the context of patient- and family- centered care in a primary and specialty care academic medical center.
  • Seek continual learning opportunities to advance one's own practice and educate others.

Education :

Minimum - Master's level degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communicative Disorders.

Work Experience :

Minimum - Completion of Clinical Speech Language Pathology Fellowship.

Preferred - Experience in a medical setting as a Speech Language Pathologist.

Licenses and Certifications :

Minimum -

  • Wisconsin state license (or eligible) to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology (CCC - SLP)
  • Certification in Healthcare Provider Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Automatic External Defibrillator within 3 months of hire

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities :

  • Familiarity with a variety of equipment, including computer software, is required.
  • Organization, independence, time management, flexibility, and a positive attitude are crucial to successful performance.

Physical Requirements :

Light: Ability to lift up to 20 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds.
