Occupational Nurse. (Finance)

A Day in the Life
As an Occupational Nurse you will participate in the exchange of infirmary information with the first shift nurse, verify emails, verify new hazardous observations reported in the Enablon system, enter hazardous observations turned in and assign corrective actions, assist employee with medical situations including possible contagious disease/ emergency, licenses and benefit orientation, assist in accident investigation cases and inform SLT of the incident, evaluate and inform temporary and regular employees return to work process, participate in EHS team, EHS committee and EMR team meetings, assist the occupational physician in medical evaluations, assist in case management meetings, maintain medical files updated, safety audits, help manage and/or coordinate medical surveillance programs such as hearing conservation, respiratory protection, PAE orientation etc.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Provides nursing services and first aid to employees or persons who become ill or injured at work facilities and industrial plants.
  • Administers health management programs such as workers' compensation, long-term disability, and wellness programs.
  • Maintains record of persons treated; prepares accident reports; provides health education information; dispenses standard drugs and medicines such as aspirin and cough or cold tablets; refers contagious diseases or serious injuries to company or employee's physician.
  • Must be a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • May work with industrial toxicology and/or hygienists to recognize environmental factors and/or stresses in or from the workplace that may cause sickness, impaired health, or discomfort among the workers.
  • Manage occupational and non-occupational medical cases
  • Assist company physician during medical evaluations
  • Record retention program
  • HIPAA certification
  • Analyze medical information
  • 2nd Shift

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required in Science in Nursing
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 0 years of experience

Nice to Have

  • Basic knowledge on occupational nursing is a must
  • Basic knowledge on occupational programs (Audiometric test, visual test, respiratory program etc.)
  • Basic knowledge on Ergonomic evaluations
  • Basic Enablon System management
  • OSHA basic knowledge
  • Basic knowledge on ENABLON System
  • Lead Medical Response Team
  • Lead EHS Committee
  • Assist with company safety issues
  • Must be a Registered Nurse (RN).
