Controllership Manager (Finance)



Driving Infinite Possibilities Within A Diversified, Global Organization

As a Controllership Manager here at Honeywell, you will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the controllership function within our Aerospace (AERO) business unit. You will ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulations, and lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes. Your expertise in financial analysis and insights will support business decision-making, and you will provide guidance and support to cross-functional teams within the Aerospace business unit.

You will report directly to our Controller, and you'll work out of our 2 locations on a 3-work schedule.

In this role, you will impact the accuracy and completeness of financial statements, ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulations, and provide financial analysis to support business decision-making within the Aerospace business unit.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Significant knowledge of accounting and finance best practices and experience participating in, or leading, transformation projects to help stakeholders optimize all elements of their accounting and finance organization
  • Document and maintain clear, concise functional and technical specifications for financial reporting applications and business system processes and cross functional support to IT team to write custom Business Rules and/or Calculation Scripts for custom logic to facilitate automation opportunities
  • Be the change agent for process improvement and evangelize the technology solutions like Power BI, Alteryx, Tableau etc. and provide required training to Finance groups
  • Provide technical insight into the determination of technical inadequacies and/or deficiencies that affect the functional area's ability to support and meet organizational goals
  • Collaborate with technology and functional leaders to create a technical roadmap for enterprise-based products.
  • Drive standardization of tools, processes, and reporting solutions that facilitate key business insights across the division through collaborative partnerships with finance function and corporate teams
  • Experience with various Blackline modules; development and implementation are required
  • Demonstrated experience with: refining organizational design; business process analysis and process mapping to improve the effectiveness, efficiency and control of transactional and decision support processes; consolidations and shortening the financial close; implementing financial close and account reconciliation technology; designing and implementing corporate performance management.
  • Build cross-functional relationships and work collaboratively across functions to coordinate completion of cross-functional deliverables
  • Perform an As-Is/To-Be Gap Analysis to identify differences between business process flows as they are now, and what they will be in the future. Make comprehensive recommendations covering all aspects of implementing the new processes.
  • Provide an executive summary to address the performed analysis, possible strategies to address risk, and a risk mitigation plan
  • Coordinate with stakeholders and/or technical staff to resolve issues with software applications.
  • Design, develop and establish KPIs to monitor analysis and provide strategic insights to drive growth and performance
  • Analyze data in support of proposed projects, business cases, and system requirements.
  • Drive continuous innovation and communication to both your operations & other business partners.
  • Support overall data strategy of centralization, consistency, automation, and visualization. Consider data as a key strategic business asset and seek to enhance and optimize wherever possible.

YOU MUST HAVE
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in accounting or controllership
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial consolidation tools
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

WE PREFER
  • Proficiency in Excel (macros, index, conditional list, arrays, pivots, lookups) and SQL
  • Ability to display complex quantitative data in a simple, intuitive format and to present findings in a clear and concise manner.
  • Capable of investigating, familiarizing, and mastering new data sets quickly.
  • Vision and drive to evaluate processes for efficiency and effectiveness and continuously improve
  • Strong analytical skills needed to synthesize large quantities of data, identify trends and drivers, and distill them into insightful analysis
  • Ability to build partnerships, influence decisions, and work in a collaborative style
  • Ability to learn new tools and systems to 'super-user' levels. Experience with ERP systems
  • Experience implementing Blackline modules (Tasks, Reconciliations, Matching, Journals, etc.)
  • Ability to manage competing demands, prioritize workload, and manage multiple responsibilities against deadlines
  • Ability to identify and act quickly on opportunities. Strong analytical, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
