JOB SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Senior Vineyard Finance Manager, this position is responsible for overseeing regulatory reporting, water usage, and energy management for Vineyard Operations.  This position is also responsible for water district administration and compliance, vineyard sustainability, and other various duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Primary contact for all water districts, water coalitions, water reporting agencies, and SGMA compliance.
  • Responsible for maintaining energy management databases (i.e electric, solar, cost/ac-ft. etc.).
  • Oversee vineyard sustainability for all vineyard locations and sustainability agencies.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining vineyard maps and parcel information.
  • Track and maintain monthly flowmeter usage and pumping costs.

OTHER FUNCTIONS

  • Develop and maintain Farm Plans, Farm Evaluation Surveys, Irrigation and Nitrogen Management Plans, and other various control plans.
  • Prepare and report water extractions/diversion data.
  • Attend water district, water coalition, and SGMA groundwater meetings.
  • Maintain and update monthly flowmeter spreadsheet.
  • Monthly irrigation cost/acre-foot reporting.
  • Monitor water costs and usage and compile various water analysis.
  • Liaison for vineyard managers and IT.
  • Responsible for water reporting and compliance with government and other regulatory agencies.
  • Responsible for water usage tracking and water billbacks.
  • Maintain Vineyard Ops electrical utility database (electric, solar, natural gas).
  • Input and maintain permits into TELUS and mapping.
  • Responsible for obtaining and maintaining vineyard sustainability certification at various sustainability agencies.
  • Maintaining vineyard planting data; (vine counts, clone and rootstalk data, planting dates, etc.)..
  • Oversee bi-annual well sounding at all vineyard locations.
  • Monitor and control labor contractors: NDAs, contracts, contractor packets, audits, etc.
  • Coordinate pump tests, water quality analysis, virus and disease testing, petiole, and soil samples annually.
  • Oversee the implementation of the use of SharePoint with Vineyard Operations.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs for Vineyard Operations personnel.
  • Maintain and update vineyard maps and parcel numbers using parcel map books and county assessor websites.
  • Prepare annual crop questionnaires for various agencies and counties.
  • Assist with vetting contractors.
  • Responsible for ordering harvest safety items.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • College Degree Preferred.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite, and other software programs.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of agricultural work environment.
  • Ability to be a team player and model teamwork.
  • Mandatory travel as needed.
  • Must be able to work full time hours, overtime, and night work as needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, standing, and twisting.
  • Ability to travel to meetings required.
  • Position will be exposed to both indoor and outdoor environments but is primarily an office environment.

COMPENSATION

  • Hourly Pay Range Posted: $23.50 - $26.05/hr.
  • Actual compensation will be based on factors such as experience; skills, knowledge, and abilities; education; and other position related factors.
