Customs and Trade Compliances Specialist (Finance)



Schneider Electric has an opportunity for a Customs and Trade Compliance Specialist in Nashville, TN.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Customs and Trade Compliance Specialist to join our Americas Customs and Trade Compliance team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in customs regulations, a passion for data analytics, and a drive to ensure compliance across international operations.

What will you do?

Ensure compliance with U.S. and international customs regulations and trade laws, including the interpretation and application of import and export policies, tariff classifications, valuation, country of origin rules, and free trade agreement eligibility.

Review import/export documentation and related processes to support audit readiness and identify compliance risks.

Analyze trade data to uncover trends, assess risks, and drive process improvements.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external brokers to resolve customs-related issues and enhance operational efficiency.

Maintain and update compliance records, audit documentation, and the Americas Trade Compliance SharePoint site.

Track and report on key compliance metrics to support continuous improvement and risk mitigation.

Prepare and deliver training materials to educate internal teams on customs and trade compliance requirements.

Support internal audits and respond to government inquiries related to trade compliance.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?

3-5 years of experience in customs and trade compliance.

Strong knowledge of U.S. import/export regulations (e.g., HTS classification, valuation, country of origin).

Proficiency in data analytics tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, or similar platforms).

Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

U.S. Customs Broker License (LCB) is a strong plus.

Professional certifications in trade compliance (e.g., CCS, CES).

Experience with ERP systems and trade compliance software.
