Assitant Supervisor - Quality Assurance - 2nd Shift - Chicago Racine (Finance)

The salary range posted represents the low and high end of OSI's salary range for this position. Salaries will vary based on various factors, including but not limited to, location, education, skills, experience and performance. Base salary is one component of OSI's overall total rewards package. Other components may include bonuses, special pay programs, comprehensive time off, 401k with match and a full suite of benefit offerings for you and your family.

Responsible for supervising employees and activities involved in ensuring the safe production of a wide range of products in compliance with company, customer and government requirements that meet required quality specifications.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for a variety of supervisory activities including scheduling, training, coaching, and making recommendations to the QA Supervisor about performance, hiring and termination decisions.
  • Participate in the transitions between shifts and communicate key information to peers, team members and Production Management.
  • Prepare a variety of routine and special reports that document testing activities, test results, and operational issues involving product quality and safety such as swab tests, finished product tests, and HACCP audits.
  • Ensure operational compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements in the areas of safety, employment, quality, work rules, good manufacturing practices, hazard analysis and critical control points, and others as established by communicating requirements to employees, validating understanding and correcting behavior as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience & Skills

  • Planning, organizing, coordinating and leadership skills.
  • Computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in food science, or a related field, or equivalent amount of relevant experience and education.

Work Environment

  • Must be able to climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crawl, and stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. for short distances.
  • Comfortable working with heights and confined spaces.
  • Comfortable working in non-climate-controlled environment.
