Director of Volunteers (Administrative)



Located in the heart of World Golf Village, Westminster St. Augustine is currently accepting applications for the position of part-time Director of Volunteers for our community. This individual will plan, develop, organize and direct the volunteer services that enrich the services provided to the residents in the community by increased contact with persons from the local community.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

The Director of Volunteers must comply with all applicable rules, policies, standards and guidelines related to employment within Westminster and its communities, including:

  1. Supervises the staff which involves direct and indirect responsibilities for interviewing, selection, training, motivating, wage and salary administration, performance appraisal, managing policies and procedures to ensure achievement of the department's goals.
  2. Responsible for the strategic planning and operations of the department by implementing cost control measures and meeting budget goals.
  3. Responsible for recruiting, screening, training, and scheduling resident volunteers, external volunteers and group volunteers.
  4. Manage and supervise the process of assigning volunteers based on needs/requests from department heads. Ensure that volunteers are following company policies. Monitor volunteer interactions with residents and staff members.
  5. Coordinate and support volunteers with any event/activity/council/committee conducted by the volunteers.
  6. Responsible for managing and entering volunteer hours into the Volgistics Database program.
  7. Responsible for advertisement of all volunteer related programs, events, and activities through newsletter publications, flyers, resident calendars and Touchtown.
  8. Monitor and assess the need for volunteer services throughout the community and implement programs as needed. Provide information on volunteer opportunities in the community to interested residents and staff members.
  9. Ensure volunteer retention through assignment of appropriate tasks, regular recognition practices, and conducting volunteer experience evaluations. Establish and maintain relationships with local schools, universities, nonprofit organizations and community resources in order to facilitate volunteer recruiting for the community and educate the (local) community on Westminster's contributions by its volunteers (residents and staff members).

 ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience: College Degree or at least 4 years of significant volunteer and/or administrative experience.

Physical and Environmental Requirements: Standing, Walking, Lifting up to 25 pounds, Sitting, Driving a car, Pushing, Pulling

Sensory and communicative activities with or without prosthetics of this position are: Hearing, Speaking, Seeing

 An individual in this position will be exposed to: Inside/outside environmental conditions, Bloodborne pathogens (low risk), Respiratory pathogens, Residents who may act emotional or physical at times (low risk)

 Must be able to cope with mental and emotional stress of this position.
