Systems Administrator III (Finance)

Position Summary

Expert level technical professional role. Under limited supervision, takes ownership of design, implementation, testing, operations and maintenance tasks related to physical, virtual, and cloud computing environments. Works directly with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical designs. Provides subject matter expertise and senior level support to technical teams engaged in build, operation, and maintenance of computing solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serves as the technical lead and subject matter expert for server infrastructure projects across the enterprise.
  • Designs solutions which leverage physical servers, virtualization, and cloud technologies.
  • Designs, operates, and maintains secure solutions for electronic mail and integrates solutions with secure Active Directory architectures.
  • Designs underlying infrastructure for multi-tier applications and defines network requirements for optimal performance.
  • Designs storage solutions and carries out complex data migration tasks within the operating environment.
  • Creates visual depictions and drawings of complex solutions to serve as build plans for team members and clients.
  • Performs system performance tuning and adjusts configuration parameters for optimal performance and reliability.
  • Provides periodic reports and metrics to management to demonstrate infrastructure effectiveness.
  • Researches and proposes new business enabling technical solutions to senior IT leadership.
  • Conducts scoping, planning, and scheduling tasks for server infrastructure related projects.
  • Provides status reporting on upcoming and in progress server infrastructure projects and initiatives

Professional Requirements
  • 7 to 10 years of system administration experience and demonstrated experience with complex computing environments including physical and virtual.
  • 4-6 years experience with storage solutions (SAN/NAS and Cloud)
  • 4-6 years strong knowledge and experience with server hardware, virtualization technologies
  • 1-3 years experience with Cloud compute administration
  • Proficiency in virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, Citrix or AHV..
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Ansible).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., VMware Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect) are a plus.
  • Experience with Nasuni technologies considered a strong plus.
  • US Citizenship is required due to our clients/contracts
  • Strong understanding and working experience with enterprise level IAM solutions
  • Federal work and administration of systems under government contracts considered a plus.

Education
  • BS Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field (or equivalent work experience).

COMPENSATION

The approximate compensation range for this position is $130,000 to $170,000. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
