As part of the PPC Information Technology & Services team, we support PGIM Private Capital with both vendor and internally designed applications, data infrastructure, processes automation and analytics / business intelligence.  We are looking for an astute, determined professional like you to fulfill a developer role on this team. Our Role:

As a Vice President, Enterprise Architect on PPC Information Technology & Services team, you will establish solutions that align with business and technology strategy and ensure they are consumable and available across the enterprise. Additionally, you provide architecture consulting on critical initiatives that have high visibility, impact and complexity.  You will set technical standards and bring deep technical expertise and experience as evangelize and influence architectural change and adoption at an executive level! As a technical expert, you will bring excellent problem solving, communication and teamwork skills, along with agile ways of working, strong business insight, an inclusive leadership attitude and a continuous learning focus to all that you do. 

Your Impact:

• Key thought leader, collaborator, and contributor, partnering across Architecture domains to define Architecture Patterns and Reference Architectures, adopting Architecture Principles to drive business strategies and enterprise goals.

• Align to enterprise architectural standards and create domain architecture artifacts. Define logical abstracted patterns and reference architecture as the foundation for architecture standards. Define roadmap and reference architecture to implement architecture standards. Ensure architecture patterns are modern/current and built for resiliency, scalability, and reusability.

• Oversight of the engineering, quality assurance, and IT Operations team on defining the solution implementation that aligns with modern/tech-forward Patterns and Reference Architecture; Co-create and evaluate reference implementations that can be leveraged by engineering teams. Partner with engineering teams to explain and evangelize patterns and reference architectures, drive the adoption of architecture principles, modularization and patterns and influence implementation solutions in alignment with our modernization goals.

• Ensure architecture standards and solution architecture designs align with security requirements.

• Review new technology use cases, define/design Enterprise Architecture Review Board (EARB)-approved architecture patterns, and guide the PPC Emerging Technology & AI review board.

• Scan the market for emerging solutions and new architectural concepts that address challenges or enable new use cases.

• Recommend new technologies to address challenges or deliver solutions where existing technology doesn't exist, existing technology doesn't adequately meet business needs, or new technology delivers better outcomes (e.g., higher performance, lower cost, etc.).

• Evaluate the application portfolio; apply Application Portfolio Management practices and influence application disposition for the application portfolio.

Skills & Competencies 

  • Bachelor of Computer Science or Engineering; Analytics; or experience in related fields
  • Experience in working with DevOps automation tools & practices; Knowledge of full software development life cycle (SDLC) 
  • Lead and effectively leverage diverse ideas, experiences, thoughts, and perspectives to the benefit of the organization   
  • Expert knowledge of business concepts tools and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business 
  • Ability to learn new skills and knowledge on an on-going basis through self-initiative and tackling challenges 
  • Excellent problem solving, communication and collaboration skills; enjoy learning new skills
  • Leading internal teams and growing and developing talent
  • Managing vendor relationships through 3rd party project teams, consultants, and staff augmentation contractors  

Expertise with several of the following:

  • Solution Architect Fundamentals:
    • Strong Understanding of business strategy and drivers.
    • Ability to model logical and abstracted architecture to create standard repeatable approaches for all solutions
    • Continued focus on prevailing and emerging architectural trends as well as new technologies
    • The ability to apply trends and technologies to solving current business problems
  • Solution Design:
    • Map business goals to applications
    • Translate model business processes and domains into technical solutions architecture
    • Architect business solutions in alignment with modern architecture patterns and technologies
    • Assure feasibility and sustainability by partnering with relevant stakeholders, and creating a vision for the solution's continuous delivery pipeline
  • Infrastructure Fundamentals:
    • Knowledge of infrastructure elements (server, storage, DB, network etc.) and Operating Systems
  • Azure Solutions Architecture:
    • Infrastructure as code using cloud formation
    • Azure Solution Architecture Certification
    • Continued monitoring and evaluation of Azure catalog for new services and evolution of existing ones
  • Technical Design/Architecture:
    • Knowledge of Design, modification and testing of Technical Architecture
    • Ability to transform PPC architectural patterns into reference implementations and consumable code

Preferred qualifications / experience:

  • Vendor landscape – Allvue, Salesforce, Sentry, Anaplan, Wall Street Office
  • Proficient with Microsoft Tooling – Office, Fabric, CoPilot, PowerBI, Power Apps, Purview
  • Experience in various front-end technologies – C#, .NET, ASP.NET, AJAX, HTML, React

Compensation Disclosure

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and will be comprised of base salary, discretionary annual incentive, and eligibility for long-term compensation in the form of Prudential stock.  Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $175,000 to $200,000. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
