*Library Technology Coordinator (Project Management)



The University of Oklahoma Libraries seeks to recruit a creative, mission-driven technology coordinator to join our Library Technology Operations team in the Digital Strategies and Innovation Division. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Library Technology Operation, the successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating and maintaining library-specific technology hardware and software and all related items.

This position will assist with the design and selection of departmental computer programs, plan and coordinate special projects, review billing from contractors and vendors, approve departmental expenditures within predetermined guidelines, establish and maintain filing systems for confidential documents, answer questions, provide information and handle complaints for internal customers, collect and disseminate information for internal and external customers, update departmental procedures for a more efficient operation when necessary, and perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree, AND:

  • 12 months office, clerical, or administrative experience.

Skills:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with end-users at varying technological skill levels.
  • Experience building and sustaining effective interpersonal relationships and working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrates technology proficiency and capabilities working with library-relevant information technology applications.
  • Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information.
  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Previous experience in a customer service environment and demonstrated commitment to customer service excellence.
  • Critical thinking skills, including an aptitude to research, collect, and analyze data and prepare reports or responses to inquiries.
  • Basic financial tracking skills; ability to create and maintain spreadsheets for reporting purposes.

Certifications:

  • None.

  • Communicate effectively.

  • Standard office environment.

Departmental Preferences:

  • Experience with SaaS tools, including:
    • Atlassian products such as Jira, Confluence, Trello.
    • Slack.
    • Microsoft Office 365.
    • Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Knowledge or experience working with library systems and the application of technology to enhance effectiveness in library operations.
  • Experience leading projects or implementing new technologies, preferably in an academic library environment.
