Senior Analytics Engineer - Acton, Mass. (Hybrid) (Finance)



Position Overview:
The Senior Analytics Engineer will be part of Insulet's Data Science & Analytics Center of Excellence and will be responsible for the data product's portfolio ranging from BI dashboards to automated monitoring and alerting processes both on premise and on Insulet's cloud infrastructure. This role will also be responsible for the analytics project intake and working with business stakeholders, data scientists, and data engineers on the data products lifecycle and data governance activities while maintaining compliance. The Senior Analytics Engineer will build and deliver scalable and insightful data products to our internal and external stakeholders enabling access to actionable data insights across the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Ownership, development, and maintenance of the Data Science & Analytics COE data products portfolio
  • Identify and deliver actionable insights and recommendations to key stakeholders across the organization
  • Own and develop analytics tools and processes that promote data driven decision making throughout the company
  • Lead dashboard, application, dataset, and tool validation and documentation initiatives
  • Partner with stakeholders to build queries and data visualizations for ad-hoc requests and existing dashboards/reports
  • Work with IT and cross functional teams to identify data sources, determine data collection and design aggregation mechanisms
  • Serve as liaison between the data teams and upstream engineering teams and participate in data governance activities as a key contributor
  • Manage the analytics intake process and workflows
  • Serve as one of the admins of the business intelligence toolkit
  • Mentor and collaborate with junior Analytics Engineers

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in mathematics, Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a closely related STEM field is required

Master's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a closely related STEM field; or a BS with 2-3 years of experience working with data technologies, is preferred

Experience in implementing and maintaining Business Intelligence tools linked to an external data warehouse or relational/non-relational databases is required

Experience using statistics and advanced analytics to derive insights from large datasets required

Experience in medical device, healthcare, or manufacturing industries is desirable

HIPAA experience a plus

Skills/Competencies:

Demonstrated knowledge in SQL and relational databases is required

Knowledge in non-relational databases (MongoDB) is a plus

Demonstrated knowledge of managing large data sets in the cloud (Azure SQL, Google BigQuery, etc) is required

Demonstrated knowledge of building, maintaining, and scaling Business Intelligence Reports (TIBCO Spotfire, PowerBI, Tableau...)

Demonstrated coding abilities in Python or scripting languages

Experience with Salesforce data is a plus

Experience with Databricks and Spark is a plus

Demonstrated familiarity with different data types as inputs (e.g. CSV, XML, JSON, etc)

Demonstrated knowledge of database and dataset validation best practices

Demonstrated knowledge of software engineering principles and practices

Ability to communicate effectively and document objectives and procedures

NOTE: This position is eligible for hybrid working arrangements (requires on-site work from our Acton office at least 3x/week; may work remotely other days). #LI-Hybrid

Additional Information:
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $115,875.00 - $173,812.50. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in the primary work location in the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
