Senior Quality Coordinator (Finance)



POSITION SUMMARY:

The Lebanon Senior Quality Coordinator works independently to complete the QA requirements of the production contracts placed at the facility. This job includes auditing production paperwork, testing the mechanical and thermal properties of in-process and finished products, and acceptance of finished product based upon specifications. The Sr. Quality Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all pipe fabrication processes and final products meet the required standards and specifications. This role supports and enforces quality policies and procedures, conducts inspections and tests, oversees quality documentation, and leads continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Quality Assurance & Control:

o Implement and monitor quality control systems to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes (ASME, AWS, etc.), and customer requirements.

o Conduct and oversee in-process and final inspections of pipe spools, welds, fittings, and assemblies.

o Conduct material testing to ensure compliance to internal/external specifications.

o Review and interpret engineering drawings, isometric drawings, and welding procedures.

o Writes procedures, instructions, training materials, special reports, test plans, test reports, audits, periodic quality assessments, forms, and status reports to all levels of Perma Pipe's organization and to customers.

o Directs the QA Department staff in the absence of the QA Manager, making assignments and assuring that all quality tasks are carried out in a safe and efficient manner.

• Documentation & Reporting:

o Maintain accurate inspection records, Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and Corrective Action Reports (CARs).

o Prepare and review Quality Control (QC) documentation including Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Material Test Reports (MTRs), and welding logs.

• Process Improvement:

o Identify and lead initiatives to improve quality performance and reduce defects and rework.

o Facilitate root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions.

• Compliance:

o Ensure adherence to industry standards, codes, customer specifications, and internal procedures.

o Support audits by customers, third parties, and regulatory agencies.

• Team Leadership:

o Mentor and provide guidance to junior quality inspectors and welders on quality standards.

o Conduct training sessions on quality control procedures and inspection techniques.

• Supplier Quality:

o Inspect incoming raw materials and verify conformance to specifications.

o Work with vendors and suppliers on quality issues and resolutions.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Welding Technology, Industrial Technology, or a related field preferred. High School Graduate/GED is a requirement

• Experience: Minimum 5-7 years in quality control/assurance within a pipe fabrication or industrial manufacturing environment.

• Certifications:

o AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or equivalent preferred.

• Skills:

o Strong knowledge of welding techniques and fabrication processes.

o Proficiency with quality management systems (QMS) and tools such as Six Sigma, 5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.

o Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

o Familiarity with ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, and inspect in shop environments for extended periods.

• Ability to lift materials up to 40 lbs and use inspection tools.

Working Conditions:

• Shop floor environment with exposure to noise, welding fumes, and moving equipment.

• Occasional overtime and weekend work based on project needs.

Travel:

• Minimal travel to job sites, other Perma Pipe locations, or suppliers may be required.Qualifications:
