Cloud Engineer - Remote (Finance)



The Cloud System Engineer will participate in the design, deployment, and maintenance of cloud-based infrastructure-primarily using Microsoft Azure-to support operating systems, engineering applications, data workflows, and collaboration platforms. The ideal candidate will have experience in cloud operations supporting high-tech engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design and manage Azure-based infrastructure to support civil engineering applications such as AutoCAD, Revit, Bentley Systems, and ArcGIS.
  • Deployment, configuration, and management of Azure IaaS and PaaS services.
  • Support the implementation of Azure Active Directory (AAD), Microsoft Entra, and identity governance solutions.
  • Participate in the administration of Windows Server, Microsoft Active Directory, InTune, and Azure Virtual Desktop.
  • Help troubleshoot cloud-related issues, collaborating with Tier 1-2 teams to support Azure-hosted services.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues related to cloud-hosted applications and services.
  • Automate provisioning and scaling of cloud resources using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Terraform.
  • Support migration of legacy systems and engineering data to cloud platforms, ensuring minimal disruption to workflows.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines for engineering applications and data processing workflows.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams and other business stakeholders to identify cloud solutions that enhance project delivery, data accessibility, and collaboration.
  • Optimize cloud storage and compute resources to support large datasets, simulations, and modeling workflows.
  • Work closely with cybersecurity and IT teams to safeguard sensitive systems and data, including vulnerability assessment, remediation, and incident response.
  • Develop/maintain documentation and provide training for cloud architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, data governance, and security protocols relevant to infrastructure and environmental projects.
  • Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and trends in digital engineering and infrastructure development best practices.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a closely related discipline or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum three years of experience in cloud computing or IT infrastructure roles, preferably supporting engineering or technical environments.
  • At least three years experience supporting Microsoft 365, including Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
  • Experience with CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and automation tools.
  • Experience building and deploying VDI solutions, including AVD.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Azure; familiarity with AWS and GCP is a plus.
  • Certifications in Azure, AWS, and/or GCP are a plus.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Compensation

The approximate compensation range for this position $95,000 - $125,000 per year. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
