Fire & Security Systems Specialist III (Finance)



Schneider Electric is looking for an experienced Fire & Security Technician III for the Charlotte, NC area

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Fire & Security Technician III to join our Installed Base Services team. This field-based role is primarily responsible for delivering fire alarm projects, including programming, commissioning, and installation of EST-3 and EST-4 systems. The ideal candidate will work closely with project managers and contribute to operational excellence through technical expertise and customer-focused service.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform programming, installation, and checkout of EST-3 and EST-4 fire alarm systems.
  • Interpret blueprints, submittals, and product manuals to execute project tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with local and national codes and industry standards.
  • Manage daily schedule, documentation, and paperwork independently.
  • Collaborate with other trades to coordinate on-site work.
  • Maintain accurate as-built drawings and provide updates to the Project Manager.
  • Communicate effectively with customers to ensure satisfaction and project success.
  • Complete administrative tasks including timesheets, expense reports, and site documentation.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or technical school certificate required.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and training.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
  • Proficiency with hand tools, test equipment, and digital multimeters.
  • Ability to troubleshoot ground faults, short faults, and open circuits.
  • NICET I Certification in Fire Alarm Systems, Fire Alarm Test & Inspect, or Special Hazards (or equivalent certification like ESA CAT L1) preferred. (We can train the right candidate!)
  • Comfortable working at heights and lifting up to 75 lbs.
  • Flexible to work nights, weekends, and travel overnight as needed.
  • Strong initiative, self-motivation, and results-driven mindset.
