Position Summary

The Director, IT Infrastructure is responsible for leading the design, operation, and continuous improvement of Enerpac's global technology infrastructure. This includes networks, cloud platforms, data centers, service desk, end-user technologies, and connectivity across global plants and offices.

As Enerpac is an Oracle shop, this leader will work closely with Oracle application and functional teams to ensure optimal performance and reliability of Oracle ERP, databases, middleware, and reporting platforms. The Director must be both strategic and hands-on-able to define global standards and roadmaps while also stepping in to troubleshoot during critical incidents.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute a multi-year global infrastructure and end-user services roadmap aligned with business priorities.
  • Drive modernization initiatives, including cloud adoption (Azure/AWS/OCI), automation, and global standardization.
  • Lead infrastructure integration for M&A, ensuring new sites and acquired businesses are rapidly brought into Enerpac's standard platforms.
  • Oversee disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity (BCP), including regular testing of Oracle and other critical enterprise applications.

Operational Management
  • Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of infrastructure across global plants, offices, and remote locations.
  • Lead infrastructure services: networking, servers/storage, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), cloud, collaboration platforms, and end-user technologies.
  • Oversee infrastructure supporting Oracle ERP, Oracle databases, middleware, OBIEE/Power BI, and integrations, ensuring strong performance and reliability.
  • Own the Service Desk function, driving SLA adherence, end-user satisfaction, automation, and self-service capabilities.
  • Implement robust monitoring and observability practices for proactive issue detection and rapid resolution.
  • Provide hands-on leadership during critical incidents and outages.

Team & Vendor Management
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a global, distributed team in a lean IT model.
  • Manage vendor and managed service provider relationships, including Oracle and Service Desk partners, to ensure high-quality and cost-effective delivery.
  • Oversee licensing and contract management (Oracle, Microsoft, cloud, network carriers) with a focus on compliance and cost optimization.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Security & Compliance
  • Partner with the Information Security team to ensure strong cyber hygiene across infrastructure and Oracle environments.
  • Drive identity and access management (MFA, SSO, privileged access), endpoint protection, patch compliance, and secure OT/plant connectivity.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, export control, and data privacy requirements.

Financial Management & Reporting
  • Develop and manage the infrastructure and service desk budget; optimize spend across cloud, data center, Oracle, and vendors.
  • Track and report KPIs to IT and business leadership, including system uptime, DR readiness, service desk performance, and user satisfaction.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive IT infrastructure experience, with at least 5 years in leadership roles.
  • Experience in a global manufacturing or industrial environment strongly preferred.
  • Proven success in supporting Oracle ERP and databases in partnership with applications teams.
  • Demonstrated leadership of Service Desk and end-user support in a distributed environment.
  • Hands-on ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure and application performance issues.

Technical Skills
  • Expertise in networking (LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi), servers/storage, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), and hybrid cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, OCI).
  • Experience with Microsoft ecosystem: Active Directory, M365, Teams, Exchange Online, Intune, and endpoint management.
  • Familiarity with ITSM platforms (ServiceNow, Freshservice, or similar) and ITIL-based Service Desk processes.
  • Experience with monitoring, observability, disaster recovery, and incident response tools.
