Ingram Micro's Insights & Recommendation (InR) practice is a profit generating strategic group that provides IT channel stakeholders with the insights and industry intelligence to generate more business, expand reach, and achieve pinpoint accuracy in their sales efforts. The team develops high margin science offerings for Ingram's Global Partners and internal Business Units across the company.

Featuring large transactional, product, and inventory databases across the IT ecosystem, the InR teams develop the science and products driving Ingram's lead analytics, recommendation engines, search, supply chain optimization, propensity models, industry performance insights, customer health analysis, product lifecycle analysis, as well as forecasts and growth targets.

Your role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist to develop and expand the science behind Ingram's cloud growth. The role will collaborate with a diverse team of highly talented Ph.D.s, M.A.s, and industry experts to use advanced scientific techniques on a world class data infrastructure to develop large-scale models with immediate and long-term relevance. You will focus on building new and refining existing models to identify growth opportunities in the Cloud technology space. As a Senior Data Scientist you will build models, work with large granular data sets, communicate analysis to key internal and external stakeholders, be positioned as a Subject Matter Expert, mentor junior associates, and manage a portfolio of data products.

What you bring to the role:

  • B.S. or Masters (Ph.D. preferred) in Computer Science, Statistics, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Economics, or related technical field required
  • 5+ years of quantitative experience (industry, consulting, government, academics, or post-doc work)
  • Ability to apply insights to high impact questions with immediate and long-term relevance
  • Expertise in Machine Learning algorithms
  • Expertise in the Cloud business
  • Development and implementation of propensity models at scale
  • Experience with optimization techniques
  • Design and execute field experiments to draw insights from market behavior
  • Expertise with supervised and unsupervised learning techniques
  • Experience cleaning, aggregating, and pre-processing large granular data from varied sources and data types
  • Develop Machine Learning, AI, Econometric, and Statistical models on very large granular transaction level data sets
  • Experience with tools such as Python, Jupyter Notebooks, SQL, R, STATA, SAS, or MATLAB
  • Experience with GCP (Big Query, VertexAi a plus)
  • Experience developing AI Agents (a plus)
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; the ability to collaborate with internal and external partners

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $107,500.00 - $182,800.00 per year.

The ranges above reflect the potential annual base pay across the U.S. for all roles; the applicable base pay range will depend on the candidate's primary work location, pay grade, and variable compensation plan. Individual base pay within each range depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time of hire. New hires starting base pay generally falls in the bottom half (between the minimum and midpoint) of a pay range.

These awards are allocated based on position level and individual performance.
