Role Overview 

As the HR Business Partner, you'll have a big mission. Your mission if you chose to accept it will be to generate leads, sell, and renew apartment leases in accordance with company and Fair Housing guidelines. You will be responsible for assuring the Company's standards are achieved and excellent customer service is delivered. You also understand the value of taking a moment to express gratitude to the village that helped to make it happen. As you can likely tell, 'how' things are done matters just as much as ‘what' is done here at B.HOM.  

Key Responsibilities 

  • Partner with management to identify and proactively develop talent through formal training, mentoring, coaching, and “stretch” assignments.
  • Oversee the performance management process and work with assigned portfolio's supervisors/managers on their employee reviews and evaluations.
  • Respond to grievances, review disciplinary programs, conduct investigations, prepare for mediations as needed.
  • Responsible for preparation of written responses to EEOC claims, unemployment claims, etc.
  • Provide training and consultation/coaching and guidance to managers regarding employment issues in such areas as policy and procedure interpretation/application, dispute resolution, corrective action, leaves of absence, harassment, and terminations.
  • Analyze findings and review trends with HR leaders and recommend actions to ensure positive organizational changes.
  • Review, interpret, administer, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, and company policies and procedures.
  • Identify training needs on various HR topics, including ethics, labor laws, policies, and procedures, design, and implementation of related training.
  • Provide day-to-day direction and support to portfolio staff including proactive guidance, troubleshooting support, and issue escalation.
  • Assists with creating/updating job descriptions and performance management templates as requested
  • Responsible for full life cycle recruiting for the assigned region or portfolio

 

You Have  

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in HR, Business, Industrial Relations, Organizational Development, or related field; equivalent experience in lieu of education.
  • Minimum of 4 years of HR experience in a HR Business Partner, HR Generalist or similar role.
  • Proficiency with HR information systems and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • 2 years of experience as a corporate recruiter or similar
  • HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) or willingness and ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.
