A Brief Overview

The Project Engineer is responsible for developing project proposals, generating machinery specifications, and

managing contractors and internal personnel for successful project execution. This role ensures compliance with

safety standards and operational guidelines while minimizing disruptions to production. The Project Engineer

oversees project budgets, timelines, and deliverables to achieve company objectives effectively.

What you will do

· Coordinates and supervises external contractors and internal personnel during project execution. Works

with maintenance teams to troubleshoot and improve equipment and processes.

· Develops project proposals and machinery specifications for major equipment purchases. Manages all

phases of capital projects, including scope definition, installation, commissioning, startup, and closeout.

Develops bid package documents, reviews vendor quotes, and selects optimal equipment and resources.

· Works with Operations, Scheduling, and Safety teams to ensure compliance with GMP, FDA codes, and

other safety guidelines. Ensures minimal disruption to production processes during project

implementation.

· Manages project financials to ensure timely completion within budget. Provides input into the budget

planning process and controls project-related expenses.

· Prepares project documentation, including preliminary and as-built drawings, operating instructions, and

maintenance requirements. Maintains facility layout using AutoCAD.

· Leads and participates in production line and compounding area improvement initiatives. Develops

operating procedures for new and existing equipment and processes

· Ensures all projects adhere to company capital processes.

· Communicates effectively with stakeholders across departments.

· Assists in technical training and provides guidance on equipment operation.

· Supports troubleshooting efforts for process and equipment issues.

· Other duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager.

· Some duties may vary slightly by location.

Education Qualifications

· Associate's Degree Engineering or Technology. (Required) or

· Bachelor's Degree Engineering or Technology. (Preferred)

Experience Qualifications

· 4-6 years in electrical or mechanical project and contractor management within a manufacturing

environment. (Preferred)

Skills and Abilities

· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. (High proficiency)

· Critical thinking and problem-solving skills. (High proficiency) · Planning, organizing, and time management. (High proficiency) · Communication and interpersonal skills. (High proficiency) · Experience with packaging and automated equipment (e.g., chemical feed systems, batching systems, fillers, cappers). (High proficiency) · Experience in specifying, procuring, installing, commissioning, and starting up automated equipment. (High proficiency) · Working knowledge of MS Office, MS Project, MS Access, and AutoCAD. (Medium proficiency) · Familiarity with cGMP requirements in food or personal care manufacturing. (Medium proficiency) · Understanding of Allen Bradley instrumentation & PLC programming.
