Asst Dir - Campus Outreach Athletic Trainer (Finance)



Reporting directly to the Director of Athletic Medicine, this position's primary responsibility is to perform a variety of duties involved in the evaluation, treatment, care and rehabilitation of USF student athletes. Determines initial action/medical care or protocol to be followed, while adhering to all NCAA, Conference, and institutional rules and regulations. Administers treatment and rehabilitation to injured athletes under the direction of the team physician. Requires travel and attendance to all home and away team practices and games for assigned intercollegiate sport(s). Develops injury prevention programs, which may include operating therapeutic modalities and rehab equipment. Develops and implements reconditioning exercises, fitness programs and educates student athletes to avoid injuries. Serves as a liaison between coaches, parents, doctors, athletes, head trainer, departmental staff and the university to resolve problems and/or address concerns relative to the student athlete's injury. This position will oversee the athletic trainers in the student health and recreation center.Minimum Qualifications: This position requires a Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited university in a field of study, such as, Athletic Training or Sports Medicine, with a minimum of four years related exempt experience, including two years of supervisory experience.

Certification by the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification (NATABOC); and Eligible for Florida State AT licensure.

Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in related field from an accredited university. Three or more years' experience as an athletic trainer with NCAA Division I experience.Working at USF

  • Oversee healthcare of student-athletes with the USF Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. This includes, but is not limited to, evaluations, emergency care, injury/illness care/treatments, rehabilitation, and event medical coverage.
  • Manage and coordinate provider visits and communicate with the various parties it pertains to (coaches, administrators, parents, medical staff).
  • Oversee the athletic trainers in the student health and recreation center. Providing feedback, evaluations, and assistance with care.
  • Oversee the proper physical functioning of the facility, making sure equipment is in sound working order and calibrated as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
