Collateral Protection Coordinator (Architecture)



Job Description Summary

Perform day to day administration of the collateral protection program for consumer and business loans.

Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitors collateralized loans for proper insurance coverage. Requests member insurance information prior to assessing charges. Review documents for accuracy and completeness; including insurance verifications, cancellations and reinstatements.
  • Enter insurance documents into tracking systems; adjust payments which have been increased due to CPI charges; work with Accounting Department to balance CPI related charges and refunds; review reports for accuracy
  • Work with Collections department in filing repossession claims; monitor payment claims; review reports to ensure premiums are properly credited to loan balances
  • Manage outbound call entries. Provide follow –up to member related inquires and issues.
  • Provides technical guidance and assistance to staff; researches and resolves escalated issues and problems. Serves as point of contact to CPI vendors to ensure tracking systems function properly.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Education Requirements

High School Diploma or GED - Required

Experience Requirement

3 Years - Financial industry operations experience - Required

Insurance experience - Preferred

  • Effectively apply internal and external customer service practices and processes to meet quality service standards and achieve member satisfaction.
  • Learn and apply information, on a wide range of Credit Union products, services and regulatory compliance requirements, in order to assess member situations and develop solutions.
  • Resolve problems utilizing advanced knowledge and experience.
  • Communicate in a professional manner and deliver information clearly and effectively. Actively listen to questions, opinions and ideas of others. Use tact and diplomacy in sensitive and confidential situations.
  • Use correct English including spelling, grammar and punctuation.
  • Operate computers and use business software and other standard office equipment.
  • Understand and follow written and oral instructions.
  • Set priorities and manage one's own time effectively.
