Position Summary:
Oak River Rehab is seeking a creative, energetic, and compassionate Activities Director to lead and manage our life enrichment program. This full-time position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing a dynamic calendar of events and activities that promote physical, mental, and emotional wellness for our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a monthly activities calendar that includes group events, individual programming, and community outings
  • Lead recreational and therapeutic activities such as arts & crafts, games, music, movement, social events, and educational programs
  • Collaborate with nursing staff, social services, and dietary teams to support holistic resident care
  • Supervise and train activity assistants and volunteers
  • Maintain accurate records of resident participation and progress
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations related to activity programming
  • Foster a fun, inclusive, and resident-centered environment

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in recreation therapy, social work, or a related field preferred
  • Certified Activity Director or eligibility to obtain certification (NCCAP or state equivalent)
  • Experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting preferred
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Ability to motivate and inspire residents of varying physical and cognitive abilities
  • Creativity, compassion, and a positive attitude
