Team Lead - Grinding (Manufacturing)

Shift: DayShift

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Position Summary:

The Team Leader will oversee and coordinate daily operations within the Grind Department, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety standards are met. This role requires strong leadership abilities, technical, expertise in manufacturing processes, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Receives instructions and directions from the Supervisor and/or Manager.
  • Lead a team of production employees, providing guidance, coaching, and training to ensure employees perform at their best.
  • Plan and organize roller production schedule and resources to meet customer demand and production targets.
  • Ensures daily production standards are met by interaction with operators and review performance every hour. Maintaining whiteboard.
  • To effectively perform the 5C process. Escalates help chain to next level management for production, quality, and safety triggers through means of radio communication.
  • Promotes a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement (learning).
  • To effectively work with manufacturing vendors for grinding supplies, including obtaining quotes.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety guidelines, quality assurance standards and other regulatory requirements.
  • In the absence of the department manager, team leader plays a crucial role in ensuring continuity, efficiency, and effective management within the department.
  • To effectively use SYSPRO for creating routes, making shop travelers, and assembling grinding job packets involves understanding the software's functionalities and applying them effectively.
  • Monitor waste tank levels and maintaining hydraulic fluids are critical tasks in a manufacturing environment, especially in operations involving grinding.
  • Operating equipment when time permits is a proactive approach to enhance production flow.
  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
