Position Overview
The Director of Community Operations provides leadership, guidance, and support across all Birchwood Cottages' communities (Owatonna and North Mankato) to ensure operational excellence, consistent quality of care, and alignment with organizational standards. This role partners closely with Executive Directors and site leadership teams to oversee compliance, resident satisfaction, staffing practices, and financial performance.
As a resource and mentor for community leadership, the Director fosters professional growth, ensures effective implementation of policies and initiatives, and drives a culture of accountability and compassion. Through regular site visits, data review, and collaboration, this leader plays a vital role in maintaining Birchwood's reputation for exceptional memory care services.

Key Responsibilities

Provide operational leadership and oversight for multiple communities.

Partner with Executive Directors and site leaders to monitor compliance, quality of care, and resident satisfaction.

Support staffing practices including recruitment, retention, and team development.

Review community performance data and collaborate on strategies for improvement.

Ensure financial performance aligns with organizational goals.

Serve as a mentor and resource for community leadership, fostering growth and accountability.

Promote and model a positive workplace culture rooted in compassion and respect.

Conduct regular site visits to provide hands-on support and guidance.

Schedule and Compensation

Salaried position, based on experience; starting pay $85,000+ per year
Maintain standard office hours at full-time status as able. Allow for flexibility in the workday start and ends times to meet community needs.
Some evening, weekend and holiday hours may be necessary.
Expect to be out at a community 3 - 4 days per week. This is flexible and will be based on the needs of the communities at the time.
