Purchasing - Specialist, Sourcing (Finance)



Strategic Sourcing Buyer Department: Supply Chain / Procurement Location: Fremont, California Reports To: Supply Chain Manager Job Type: Full-Time Position Summary The Strategic Sourcing Buyer plays a key role in supporting both new product introductions and ongoing manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies that ensure a reliable, cost-effective, and high-quality supply base. The individual will collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Product Management, Operations, and Materials teams to align procurement activities with business and technical objectives. Key Responsibilities • Develop and manage sourcing strategies for direct and indirect materials, needed for pressure sensors and MEMS components. • Execute material plans based on MRP/ERP outputs and maintain accurate procurement data. • Lead supplier performance initiatives focused on quality, delivery, and inventory optimization. • Drive cost reduction initiatives, including value creation projects and supplier consolidation. • Negotiate supplier contracts and standardize payment terms. • Monitor supplier performance using KPIs, scorecards, and risk management tools. • Identify and qualify new suppliers to ensure supply continuity and competitive pricing. • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory standards. • Support multi-site purchasing operations and cross-functional sourcing initiatives. • Analyze market trends to anticipate cost fluctuations and supply risks. Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent experience). • 5+ years of sourcing or procurement experience, preferably in semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing. • Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship skills. • Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement tools. • Excellent analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification. • Experience with global sourcing and low-cost region suppliers. • Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing and cleanroom material requirements. • Background in logistics and supply chain optimization.
