Job Title: Director of Staff Development (DSD)
Location: Arvin Post Acute - Arvin, California
Salary Range: $75,000 - $95,000/year, Based on Experience
Employment Type: Full-Time

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Staff Development (DSD) to lead our employee training and development efforts. This is a critical leadership role responsible for coordinating staff education, compliance, infection control, and onboarding at our skilled nursing facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate all required in-service education programs and staff development activities
  • Conduct needs assessments and implement education plans for nursing and facility staff
  • Maintain in-service records per regulatory standards and prepare monthly/annual training calendars
  • Ensure regulatory compliance in staff education, including Fire/Internal Disaster and Mass Casualty Drills
  • Supervise staff and support disciplinary actions when appropriate
  • Coordinate recruiting, onboarding, payroll, and benefit administration in collaboration with HR
  • Make rounds to monitor care quality and provide direct patient care as needed
  • Lead infection control and surveillance activities
  • Participate in facility surveys, audits, and quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications:
  • Current California RN or LVN license (RN preferred)
  • Minimum of 1 year of direct patient care experience in a long-term care setting
  • At least 1 year of experience in planning and delivering staff education programs
  • BSN preferred
  • Knowledge of state and federal nursing facility regulations
  • Familiarity with PointClickCare (PCC) preferred
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
  • CPR certification required

Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent standing, walking, reaching, pushing, pulling, and talking
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
  • Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
  • Visual acuity for close and distance work

Work Environment:
  • Typical skilled nursing facility environment
  • Low to moderate noise levels
  • Frequent interaction with residents, staff, and families
