Groundskeeper - Full Time and Seasonal (Maintenance)
Position Summary
The Groundskeeper will perform a wide variety of activities including, but not limited to landscape construction and maintenance, operation of heavy equipment in the performance of job duties, plant and care for trees, shrubs, annuals, perennials, and turf, plus caring for hard surfaces when winter weather strikes. Candidates should have a genuine interest in creating beautiful outdoor environments for the older adults who live at ClarkLindsey. Ideal candidates will be comfortable performing repetitive tasks, such as mowing and weeding, at a consistent level that meets the expectations of the organization. Candidates must have a quickness to their pace of work.
Availability
Typical work week is 40 hours, Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.Actual work week hours may vary due to weather.
Responsibilities
Must be willing to perform daily inspection of grounds for litter control, pavement condition, entry cleaning, watering, pest control, irrigation system performance, snow removal, fixtures condition, storm and sanitary systems conditions, and conditions of flower gardens, turn, trees, and shrubs.Must be willing to complete required work order forms, follow up on repairs, and complete verbal and written assignments on a timely basis.Must demonstrate knowledge of basic grounds maintenance procedures.Must understand duties during an emergency or disaster.
Requirements
Must have a valid Illinois Drivers License. MVR Check required.
Must have at least one year of grounds maintenance experience.Must successfully complete a physical and background check.Must be willing to perform assigned duties outside during varied weather conditions.Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 poundsMust possess sight/hearing senses so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.Must be able to work independently to complete assigned duties.May be subject to frequent standing, bending, and reaching.Must abide by ClarkLindseys HIPAA privacy and security rules as described in the Employee Handbook.Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public.
Benefits and Compensation
The pay range for this position is $16.05 - $18.05 per hour and is based on experience. Bonuses equaling up to 2% of salary annually are available based on performance, generally in the spring and fall each year.
