Transportation Professional Engineer II (Architecture)



The Professional Engineer II position involves planning and designing moderately complex transportation projects for both private and public entities. This role is significant in roadway improvement projects. Moore Engineering operates as an employee-owned company, with shared responsibility for providing engineering services while fostering a rewarding work environment.

Essential Duties:

  • Designs plans, calculates and prepares engineering documents for respective engineering discipline, including details, equipment schedules, and cost estimates for projects, selecting and applying engineering systems and materials in accordance with the latest governing codes.
  • Prepares and monitors project budgets for moderately complex projects, managing project schedules and ensuring timely completion.
  • Prepares funding applications and preliminary engineering reports.
  • May serve as a designated client contact.
  • Prepares construction bids or negotiations, including pre-bid conferences, interpretations and post-bid evaluations, and contract preparation.
  • Manages work-in-progress and monitors outstanding accounts receivable.
  • Stamps or seals work prepared directly or under direct supervision.
  • Participates in pre-project presentations, interviews, pre-construction meetings, and promotions as requested.
  • Oversees personnel assigned to projects where they are the lead engineer.
  • Maintains professional relationships with clients and contractors, attending client meetings as required.
  • Travels as needed for project meetings, client meetings, or visits to construction sites.
  • Keeps current on job specialty through continuing education.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer in ND or ability to obtain registration within six months.
  • Minimum of eight years of experience in civil engineering.
  • Knowledge of financing programs in ND and/or MN preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
  • Ability to prepare engineering records and write concise technical reports.
  • Keeps current in job specialty through continuing education.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Valid driver's license and insurability required.
