Position Summary:

The Sr. Manager, Sales Operations & Analytics is responsible for assisting the Senior Director, Sales Operations, the Vice President, Sales, and Commercial leadership team in execution of projects/tasks in the areas of sales and sales operations for Taiho's in line products in the United States. It is expected that the Sr. Manager, Sales Operations & Analytics, will become a trusted resource within Taiho Oncology for brand, launch strategy analytics and insights, and gain greater exposure as the business grows. Will be an advisor across the Commercial Organization for analyzing secondary data to deliver clear, accurate and actionable insights with a relentless focus on accuracy.  This position interfaces with members of the Commercial team in tactical planning efforts as a key source of field force input.      

 

Performance Objectives:

  • Participate as an integral member of the Commercial team for in-line products.
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing and Sales to ensure information needs are identified. 
  • Update salesforce reports and dashboards when necessary; weekly / monthly / quarterly reporting to senior management. 
  • Work with patient level claims, account, and Health Care Professional (HCP) sales data to answer business questions related to the brand, marketing, and market access analytics.
  • Gain familiarity with patient journey, line of therapy and source of business analytics.
  • Develop new capabilities to build analyses and models that utilize best practices and industry knowledge.
  • Provide an objective and detailed understanding of current markets, product performance, customers, and competitors.
  • Build strong relationships with internal partners (Marketing, Sales, Market Research, Medical Affairs, etc.) collaborating effectively to ensure team success.
  • Create value by adding own and synthesizing group insights into actionable reports.
  • Participate in reporting projects that enhance the capabilities and effectiveness of the Marketing, Market Access (Managed Markets), and Sales in business analytics and data driven insights. This involves identification and implementation of data sources, analysis techniques, and setting recommendations.
  • Collaborate with internal experts in Analytics, Market Research, Marketing, Sales, Competitive Intelligence, and Market Access to generate robust market assumptions.
  • Participate in key market analytics projects to inform strategic and brand planning, forecasting, and market access projects.
  • Responsible for the preparation and delivery of sales analytic tools and technical training to new Commercial team members including Field Sales Force (e.g., reports available, BI software tools in use at Taiho, etc.).
  • Work with Commercial and Corporate departments (e.g., IT, Finance, Marketing) to ensure data quality, compliance and improve the quality of analytics.
  • Identify and proactively seek out opportunities to automate processes to reduce errors and to free up time for more creative work on existing deliverables.
  • Identify trends, opportunities, and risks within sales data and translate complex insights into actionable recommendations for sales leadership.
  • Create and maintain executive-level dashboards and reports visualizing key performance indicators (KPIs) and business objectives.
  • Support annual planning processes by providing data-driven insights for territory planning, quota setting
  • Leverage data analytics to support strategic sales business planning, including forecasting, performance tracking, market trend analysis, and opportunity identification.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver actionable insights that inform decision-making and drive revenue growth.
  • Manage the auto-reimbursement program (Motus)
  • Manage the credentialing vendors and credentialing process
  • Manage field roster
  • Must work and thrive in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.

Education/Certification Requirements:

  • Minimum BA or BS in an analytical field such as statistics, operations research, management science / business, industrial engineering, economics, math, etc.
  • Advanced degree in business or an analytical field such as statistics, operations research, management science/ business, data science, etc. preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 4+ years quantitative analytical or forecasting experience.
  • 2+ years pharmaceutical analytics / sales / managed markets experience.
  • Knowledge of U.S. health care market.
  • Oncology therapeutic experience preferred.  Knowledge of the diverse business models within the oncology business helpful.
  • Experience with and analysis of secondary data sources.
  • Grasp key issues quickly, understand the "big picture" and link market insights to larger issues. Sought out as an analytical expert and, more importantly, as a strategic adviser.
  • Strong penchant towards critical thinking and problem-solving with above average analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple high priority tasks and delivery highest quality output in the face of day-to-day deliverables.
  • Ability to effectively manage through ambiguity in assigned work tasks.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong proficiency in building professional networks.
  • Detail oriented with excellent customer service, organizational and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent communication & presentation skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated competence in analytic methods, statistical analysis and common sales reporting metrics.
  • Experienced with design and analysis, secondary data, modeling, and product metrics.
  • Ability to learn and integrate complex information, and communicate key insights in clear, concise fashion to team members.
  • Capability to assess new, unfamiliar situations, analyze options and determine appropriate course of action.
  • Utilize creativity and ingenuity to develop solutions to complex problems, formulate strategies and approaches that may fall outside historical norms.
  • Excellent Excel, Power Point, and Word software skills.
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau, Qlikview or similar preferred, willingness to learn required.
  • Domestic and international travel may include spending time at cancer trial sites/institutions, conference centers, offices and hotels

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $168,300 - $198,000 annually. This pay range is based on the market range for positions of this type. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including annual bonus/incentive comp plans, potential long term incentive plan, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if a candidate/employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
