Director – Data Engineering Delivery (Finance)

As a key member of the Data & Technology team, the Director will serve as a trusted advisor, driving innovation and alignment with Azure best practices. This role requires close collaboration with internal developers, systems engineers, and external partners to deliver robust, scalable solutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and the ability to foster productive relationships across technical and business teams, ensuring that data initiatives are aligned with strategic goals.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

(May include but are not limited to)

  • Lead and mentor cross-functional data engineering teams, driving excellence in delivery, innovation, and alignment with enterprise goals.

  • Architect and implement scalable, secure, and high-performing data solutions using Azure services, including Function Apps, SQL, API Management, and real-time data platforms.

  • Oversee the full lifecycle of cloud-based applications and data platforms, ensuring timely delivery, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to translate strategic objectives into actionable data initiatives that enhance performance and decision-making.

  • Ensure compliance, governance, and alignment with Azure best practices and healthcare industry standards, while continuously evaluating emerging technologies for innovation opportunities.

Job Requirements :

  • 7 + years of experience architecting and delivering data solutions using Microsoft Azure, with a focus on analytics, data engineering, and cloud-native services.

  • 3+ years as a senior leader directly leading a team focused on deliv er ing data solutions.

  • Deep expertise in Azure services, including Azure SQL, Data Factory, Synapse, API Management, Logic Apps, Functions, and Azure Storage.

  • Strong understanding of cloud architecture principles, including IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and API design standards (REST, OpenAPI).

  • Proficiency in data engineering languages such as Python, Java, or equivalent, with experience in big data technologies (e.g., Cosmos DB, Spark, Hive).

  • Hands-on experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and monitoring tools like Azure Monitor and Key Vault.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science , Data Engineering or similar technical field.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience optimizing API performance and scalability in production environments.

  • Familiarity with platform performance, security, and operational best practices.

  • Microsoft Azure Certification or equivalent.

  • Experience in health plans, particularly Medicare Advantage, is strongly preferred.

Pay Range: $172,364.00 - $258,547.00
Pay range may be based on a number of factors including market location, education, responsibilities, experience, etc.
