Fabrication Process Engineer (Finance)



Schedule: Monday through Friday, Day Shift

This position oversees the design and implementation of the fabrication shop's production processes. The position is responsible for maintaining and improving the efficiency and quality of the Welding and Machining production processes to produce a better product, at a lower cost and improve the profitability of the company while maintaining / improving safety. This is an on-site position located in North Baltimore, OH.

What You'll Do

Primary Accountabilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Reviewing production plan & minimizing set up time on next jobs to be processed.
  • Analyzing and reporting on production processes, methods, set up times, and cycle times.
  • Evaluating quality control processes and making recommendations for improvements.
  • Ensuring that the company's manufacturing processes comply with relevant policies/procedures and Customer requirements and regulations.
  • Assures activities are completed in a safe manner, consistent with government guidelines, and with a minimum disruption of plant production on schedule and within budget.
  • Reviewing and calculating the costs of the different tools and equipment in the production process and predicting the overheads in future production requirements.
  • Remain up to date on the most recent developments & advancements in machining processes & technology.
  • Assist in defining essential safety protocols & identify, document & report unsafe situations / routines.

In addition to the responsibilities listed above, individuals may perform other duties as assigned, including work in other functional areas to cover absences or relief, to equalize peak work periods or otherwise to balance the workload.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

What We Need

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary accountability satisfactorily.   • Minimum of 3 years working on a CNC machining center
  • The ability to work well under pressure
  • Good leadership and communication skills
  • The ability to work with diverse teams
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent information technology skills in specific software packages, including computer-aided modelling and CNC language programming
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing production and processes
  • Lifting & slinging experience. - components can range up to 10 meters in length & weights up to 50 ton.

Education / Experience (an equivalent combination of education and experience required to successfully complete the primary accountabilities is indicated below)

Degree: B.S. Major: Engineering, Metallurgy, Materials Science or other Physical Sciences.

Years of Experience: 5 Area: Machining, Fabrication, Metalworking

Technical Skills: Basic computer skills, Solidworks, SolidCAM, MasterCAM.

Licenses/Certifications
  • None required.

Physical Requirements
  • Most of the time spent sitting, standing, and walking. May be situations which require up to 60 pounds of lifting. Must be able to bend periodically. Must be able to see and hear.

  • Environment: Production Area Travel: 0 - 10%
    Special Work Conditions: Production environment may be loud and dirty
