Cloud & Cybersecurity Engineer

Position Summary

We are seeking a talented and motivated Cloud Systems and Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, configuring, and securing our cloud infrastructure, with a particular focus on Microsoft 365, mobility management, and identity management. Additionally, this role is responsible for all cyber security initiatives, managing our security posture and our security roadmap. The ideal candidate should have 1-2 years of experience working with cloud technologies and cybersecurity concepts, as well as a passion for problem-solving and attention to detail.

Essential Functions

  • Work with the team to design, deploy, and manage cloud-based systems that meet the needs of the organization, with a focus on Microsoft 365 services such as Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Teams, as well as mobility management solutions such as Microsoft Intune and identity management solutions such as Azure Active Directory

  • Configure and optimize cloud services and infrastructure, including compute, storage, and network resources, with a particular focus on Microsoft 365, mobility management, identity management, and data management solutions

  • Develop and implement data management policies and procedures, including backup and recovery, retention, and disposal, to ensure the integrity, availability, and confidentiality of organizational data

  • Identify and mitigate cloud-based security risks by performing vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and implementing security best practices, including Microsoft security tools such as Azure Security Center, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Microsoft Purview and Microsoft Cloud App Security

  • Implement and manage collaboration and communication tools such as Microsoft Teams, ensuring that they are secure and available at all times, with a particular focus on mobility management, identity management, and data management policies

  • Manage and secure mobile devices using mobility management solutions such as Microsoft Intune, ensuring that they comply with security policies and standards

  • Manage and secure user identities using identity management solutions such as Azure Active Directory, ensuring that they comply with security policies and standards

  • Monitor and analyze cloud system performance and usage to identify and troubleshoot issues, including data usage and trends

  • Create and maintain documentation on system configurations, procedures, and policies, including data management policies and procedures

  • Provide support to end-users, assist with troubleshooting, and provide training as needed

  • Keep up-to-date with the latest cloud and cybersecurity technologies, tools, and best practices to ensure that the organization remains secure and efficient, with a particular focus on Microsoft 365, mobility management, identity management, and data management policies.

  • Develop, update and maintain G&J's security posture and roadmap to ensure we stay up to date on the latest technologies, trends and platforms to protect G&J's assets, identities, data and devices.

  • Put in place security platforms that enable future growth while maintaining existing systems already active in the G&J architecture

  • Support, manage and update the current physical access management security system and continue to find opportunities for improvement

Education Level

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field

Experience

  • 1-2 years of experience in cloud systems administration, configuration, and management

  • Experience in cybersecurity concepts, including vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, and security best practices, with a focus on Microsoft security tools

  • Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols

  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and perform root cause analysis

  • Strong documentation and communication skills

  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • 1+ year of experience working with Azure Active Directory

  • 1+ year of experience working with Microsoft 365

  • 1+ year of experience working with Azure with a particular focus on Azure Infrastructure

  • 1+ year of experience working with Intune and Microsoft Endpoint Manager

  • 1+ year of experience working with external email security gateways (Proofpoint/Mimecast)

  • Proven ability to create innovative solutions to solve complex business requirements, and streamline/automate business processes

  • Experience working in an Agile environment

  • Experience working with Lean Six Sigma business process methodologies and root problem identification.

  • Experience working in a Service Repair, Manufacturing, and Consumer Goods industry is a plus.

  • Experience with Artic Wolf or similar MDR solutions, platforms and functionality

  • Hands-on experience architecting and managing Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) solutions, preferably Zscaler

Computer Skills

  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell

  • Experience with Microsoft 365 services such as Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Teams, as well as mobility management solutions such as

  • Microsoft Intune and identity management solutions such as Azure Active Directory.

  • Experience with data management policies and procedures, including backup and recovery, retention, and disposal, to ensure the integrity, availability, and confidentiality of organizational data.

Certificates & Licenses

  • Valid Driver's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to worksites.

  • Certifications in Azure or Microsoft 365 is a plus.

  • Working knowledge of the Power Platform and Microsoft Dynamics is a plus

Additional Requirements

Knowledge of Microsoft based software applications, desktop, and server operating systems (Windows 10, Windows Server 2012, 2016). Ability to work in an Agile environment and knowledge of Lean methodologies.
