Job Summary

The Automation Co-op Engineer works under the immediate or close supervision of process control engineers providing exposure to refinery control systems. This positions works very closely with the Process Engineering Department, Maintenance, and Operations personnel on assigned projects with a term end presentation expected. The Automation Co-op Engineer works on projects involving the following areas: monitoring, maintaining, and enhancing regulatory process control strategies, online inferential property calculations, multivariable model-based Advanced Process Control (APC) applications, Alarm Management, High Performance HMI development, and process data analysis.

Minimum Qualifications

  • College Sophomore, Junior, or Senior pursuing degree in Chemical or Electrical Engineering
  • Overall GPA of 3.0 (Must provide proof of current GPA at time of hire to verify eligibility requirements are met)
  • Working knowledge of computer software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional demeanor
  • Incumbents will be required to communicate effectively with all levels
  • Authority to transact to implement strategy will be dependent on level of experience and demonstrated results
  • Must be able to work in a team environment and possess excellent customer service skills
  • Valid drivers' license
  • Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker's Identification Credential (TWIC)
