Facility Director

The Facility Director is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, maintenance, upkeep, repair and long-term planning of the Mylan Park Aquatics & Track & Field Centers. This role ensures that all facility physical systemsincluding HVAC, plumbing, electrical, pool systems, and general building infrastructureare operating efficiently and safely. The Facility Director will be responsible for supervising facility staff, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to support programs, events, and community engagement. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical expertise and a commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for athletes, staff, and the community. The Director plays a vital role in ensuring an excellent experience for all patrons while maintaining operational efficiency and sustainability. This position will also be responsible in keeping all records up to date to comply with company, local, state, and federal guidelines and/or regulations. The Facility Director reports directly to the General Manager (Aquatics & Track Center)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee the daily operation, maintenance and repair of all facility systems, including pool mechanicals, filtration chemical treatments, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, and structural components.Oversee any third-party contractors.Schedule repairs and maintenance.Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance.Supervise a team of maintenance technicians and custodial staff; assign tasks, manage schedules, and monitor performance.Coordinate routine inspections, preventative maintenance programs, and emergency repairs.Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal safety and building regulations, including ADA standards, pool health codes and any other safety and sanitation regulations.Manage vendor relationships for outsourced services such as HVAC repair, pool service, elevator maintenance, and waste management.
Track and manage maintenance budgets, work orders, parts inventory, and capital improvement projects.Coordinate facility setup and breakdown for internal and external events (meets, competitions, community events and facility rentals).Ensure security systems (including alarms and cameras) are functioning properly in coordination with IT and operations teams.Maintain accurate records of inspections, permits, warranties, and service reports.Respond promptly to facility-related emergencies during and outside of regular hours.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.

Refrigeration , HVAC certification

Commercial, Institutional, HVAC systems experience of 3-5 years.

5+ years of experience in facility maintenance or building operations, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

Strong knowledge of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical and safety systems.

Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and facility management software and maintenance management systems.

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics.

Physical Demands

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand/walk for extended periods, and perform physical tasks related to facility upkeep.

Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying temperatures/humidity.

Must be available for on-call emergencies and weekend/evening work as needed.

Work Environment

Indoor and outdoor work across multiple large facilities with exposure to noise, wet surfaces, and varying weather conditions.

High-use recreational and competitive sports environment with interaction among athletes, staff, vendors, and the general public.

Exposure to pool chemicals (e.g. chlorine, sodium bicarbonate, etc.)

Exposure to loud machinery (pumps, blowers, fans, etc)

Exposure to energized electric circuits

Working in high elevations utilizing ladders, scaffolding, or scissor lifts.
