Key Account Manager (Finance)



The Key Account Manager is the primary liaison between Nelson Labs and our most strategic clients. This role is responsible for driving business growth, managing key accounts, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience from initial engagement through final delivery. Success is measured through client satisfaction, revenue growth, and alignment with company goals.

Education and experience requirements:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Minimum 3 years of B2B sales or account management experience

Key Responsibilities:

Account Management & Sales

  • Own and manage relationships with assigned key accounts
  • Serve as the main point of contact for strategic clients, building strong partnerships
  • Identify and pursue new business within existing accounts
  • Track client pipelines and proactively uncover opportunities
  • Resolve client issues to maintain satisfaction and account stability
  • Leverage CRM and ERP systems to manage opportunities and sales data
  • Attend key industry events and tradeshows to support client engagement
  • May require modified work hours to cover sales accounts in other time zones.

Sales Goals & Reporting
  • Set and achieve annual revenue goals for assigned accounts
  • Create and maintain account forecasts
  • Conduct regular check-ins and visits (in-person or virtual) to assess account health
  • Report key client interactions and sales activity to leadership

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Sales Support, Project Management, Operations, and technical teams to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Coordinate internal resources to meet client needs

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office and laboratory environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, keyboards, computer mouse, telephones, photocopiers, projectors and file cabinets.

Travel requirements.

Regular travel during the business day and out-of-the area and overnight travel may be expected.

May be required to attend trade shows, seminars and conferences in addition to sales travel.

Physical requirements:

Must be able to stand/walk for 10% of the day and 90% of the day sitting at a desk or on the computer.
