CNC Machinist- MD (Finance)

Compensation for this role: $34.50 - $45.00 (commensurate with experience)

Schedule: On-site Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Summary:

The CNC Machinist is a key member of our Tooling Department, with responsibility for reverse engineering, designing, and fabricating innovative solutions in support of the Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance departments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Designs and fabricates tools/parts in accordance with work order instructions. Specific tasks may include but are not limited to layout work; machining; fastening; fabrication; assembling; drilling; filing; tapping; routing; sawing; bonding and welding.
  • Provides tool design input to engineers, as appropriate, to optimize all tool designs.
  • Identifies and pursues improvements in all areas of tool fabrication, such as better methods, improved tool designs.
  • Maintains close working relationships with engineering, quality, and production personnel concerning tooling needs.
  • Serves as interface between tooling department and all other functional areas.
  • Orders all materials for tool fabrication, as needed, through the requisition process.
  • Draw, read, and interpret blueprints, design schematics, and CAD drawings.
  • Utilizes precision measurement instruments such as micrometers, gauges, and vernier calipers to check and verify tool dimensions.
  • Manufactures, repairs, and/or reworks machine components for maintenance. Assists maintenance in the repair of equipment.
  • Inspects finished tools for defects, smoothness, and contour deformities.
  • Collaborates with teammates on processes and other technical information.
  • Works in a safe manner following all departmental and plant safety rules. Reports any unsafe work conditions to the Safety Manager, supervisor, or management.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Qualifications and Education Required

  • Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or training; technical certification or associate's degree in machining/manufacturing preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience with G-Code and CNC programming; Mastercam, CATIA, or similar CAD/CAM system required.
  • Familiarity with Fanuc mill controls.
  • Creative and detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving and teamwork skills.
  • Effective communication with internal and external customers.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, timekeeping, and work order systems required.
  • Acceptable vision test results (as applicable).

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
