Engineer (Engineering)



Job Summary

In this role you will get to highlight your technical leadership and cross-functional teamwork skills. You will be a lead engineer supporting RD&E's Sustaining efforts. In this role the engineer will own specific projects and will be required to review and update the current finished goods and raw material specifications; work with manufacturing for implementation of new tooling and validations; complete all verification/validation testing; and all documentation associated with this project.

The engineer in this role will get the opportunity to interact closely with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality and other RD&E team members. They will also be responsible for discussions with customers on changes that are being implemented on products. The role will require managing multiple product SKUs according to project management principles and maintaining compliance to regulatory and quality systems.

Job Description

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze, review, and recommend technological solutions and innovative techniques to reduce Medline's expenses and improve cost structure while maintaining or improving quality.

  • Lead multiple medium scale projects from concept to realization involving individuals from multiple departments and disciplines.

  • Develop basic to medium sized project plans.  These plans will include action steps, schedules, etc. to enhance ability to deliver quality projects on-time and within budget.

  • Develop and write functional requirements, test plans, and work with production issues.

  • Create rationales for testing plans and create proper medical device documentation.

  • Function within all quality systems and regulations for medical devices.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline, preferably Mechanical, Chemical, Biomedical or Materials Engineering.

Work Experience

  • At least 2 years engineering experience.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Technical writing, research paper writing, and/or experimental design experience.

  • Intermediate skill level in computer and systems use (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, organizational skills, and attention to detail.

  • Experience creating/reviewing finished goods specifications and drawings

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:                               

  • Class 1 Disposable Medical Device Product Development Experience.

  • Proven ability to independently manage and execute objectives.

  • Knowledge of nonwoven and other medical device materials.

  • Knowledge of GLP and GDP.

The anticipated salary range for this position:

$77,480.00 - $112,320.00 Annual

The actual salary will vary based on applicant's location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
